Newsweek Bulletin: IT & Communications

When NASA needed a project collaboration and information-sharing system for its Kennedy Space Center, it turned to Atlassian’s Confluence technology. So did Deutsche Bank. And Boeing, and BMW, and hundreds of the world’s biggest corporations. Right now, there’s no brighter shooting star in Australian IT than Sydney-based Atlassian.

A really nice article here about Atlassian and founders Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar. One quote from Scott that caught my attention, “There was a lot of free software that was terrible and a lot of expensive software that was out of reach of businesses,” because it succinctly summarizes Atlassian’s philosophy for developing new products to fill the gap for flexible, lightweight software.
Contrary to the article, we’re actually closer to 100 employees today and we’re still hiring for positions in Sydney and San Francisco!
