Codegeist is complete!

Yesterday marked the end of our second annual Codegeist plugin competition, and as we saw last year, there was a flurry of activity over the last few days. In the final week of the competition, the number of entries climbed from the low twenties to a finally tally of forty-one entries.
One of the interesting trends this year was that Jira saw more entries than Confluence — last year Confluence was ahead nearly two to one. And there was a terrific turn out for our new product: four plugins for Crowd and seven for Bamboo, despite the fact that, at just a few months in, those products have far fewer customers than Jira of Confluence. Way to step up, people!
Over the next few days I’ll be preparing the entries for judging by the development teams. I expect to have those results in a few weeks. After the judging, all of these plugins will be moved into the main Plugin Libraries for continued use and development. In the meantime, feel free to use them and send feedback to the developers — they’d love to hear how things go in the real world.
I want to offer a huge thank you to everyone who entered. I hope it was fun. And start thinking of big ideas for next year! And everyone else, go check out the plugins. I’m sure you’ll find something useful.
